Opticron Imagic IS Image Stabilised Binoculars
Lightweight Image Stabilised Binoculars for Birdwatching, Wildlife Observation & Astronomy
The Opticron Imagic IS Binoculars combine premium optics with advanced electronic image stabilisation, delivering remarkably steady handheld viewing without the need for a tripod. Designed for birdwatchers, wildlife enthusiasts, surveyors, travellers and amateur astronomers, these innovative binoculars eliminate the effects of hand shake, allowing you to see finer detail with greater comfort.
Featuring a lightweight roof prism design, fully multi-coated optics and a 2-axis image stabilisation system, the Imagic IS Binoculars provide crisp, high-contrast images whether you're observing distant wildlife, inspecting buildings or exploring the Moon.

Advanced 2-Axis Image Stabilisation
The standout feature of the Opticron Imagic IS Binoculars is their advanced electronic 2-axis image stabilisation system.
Capable of correcting hand movement by up to ±3 degrees, the system electronically and mechanically compensates for natural hand shake, producing a noticeably steadier image.
Benefits include:
-
Sharper handheld viewing
-
Greater image detail
-
Reduced eye fatigue
-
Easier subject tracking
-
No tripod required for everyday use
This allows you to enjoy the clarity normally associated with tripod-mounted optics while remaining completely mobile.
See More Detail Without a Tripod
High magnification can often make handheld viewing difficult due to image vibration. Image stabilisation transforms the viewing experience by allowing you to resolve finer details that would otherwise be blurred by movement.
Perfect for observing:
-
Birds at long distances
-
Wildlife in open landscapes
-
Coastal scenery
-
Sporting events
-
Aircraft
-
Distant landmarks
The stabilised image helps you concentrate on your subject rather than compensating for hand movement.
Premium Fully Multi-Coated Optics
The Imagic IS features a fully multi-coated optical system that maximises light transmission and delivers excellent image quality.
Expect:
-
Bright, high-contrast images
-
Excellent colour accuracy
-
Crisp detail
-
Reduced glare
-
Outstanding clarity across the field of view
These premium coatings ensure impressive performance in a wide variety of lighting conditions.
Lightweight Roof Prism Design
The compact roof prism construction makes the Imagic IS Binoculars easy to carry throughout the day.
Ideal for:
-
Birdwatching
-
Nature reserves
-
Hiking
-
Travel
-
Coastal walks
-
Wildlife photography trips
-
Outdoor adventures
Their lightweight design makes them comfortable to use during extended observation sessions.
Ideal for Birdwatching & Wildlife Observation
Image stabilisation provides a significant advantage when observing moving wildlife.
Whether you're following birds in flight or watching distant mammals, the stable image allows you to appreciate fine plumage, textures and subtle movements that can be difficult to see through conventional handheld binoculars.
Perfect for:
-
Birdwatching
-
Wildlife observation
-
Wetland reserves
-
Woodland walks
-
Coastal birding
-
Nature conservation
Excellent for Surveying & Inspection
The exceptional stability of the Imagic IS Binoculars makes them highly effective for professional inspection work.
Ideal for viewing:
-
Utility cabling
-
Building façades
-
Roof inspections
-
Mortar joints
-
Structural connections
-
Oxidation and corrosion
-
Commercial infrastructure
The stabilised image enables quick and accurate visual inspections without specialist mounting equipment.
Great for Astronomy
The Opticron Imagic IS Binoculars are also an excellent choice for handheld astronomy.
By reducing image movement, they reveal greater detail when observing:
-
The Moon
-
Lunar craters
-
Bright planets
-
Star clusters
-
Constellations
-
The Milky Way
Image stabilisation significantly enhances astronomical viewing by allowing your eyes to resolve finer details that are often hidden by normal hand shake.
Comfortable Viewing for Glasses Wearers
Long eye relief eyepieces ensure comfortable viewing for both spectacle wearers and non-glasses users.
The 4-stage twist-up eyecups allow precise adjustment to achieve the ideal viewing position, making long observation sessions more enjoyable.
Splashproof for Outdoor Adventures
The Imagic IS is rated IPX4 splashproof, providing dependable protection against:
-
Light rain
-
Moisture
-
Water splashes
-
Outdoor conditions
This makes the binoculars well suited to year-round birdwatching, hiking and general outdoor use.
Ergonomic Rubber Armour

What happens if I don't like it?
We always want you to be happy with your purchase — so if you’re unsure, please ask us first. We’re always happy to give honest advice before you buy.
If the product arrives and you simply decide it isn’t for you, you can usually return it within the cooling-off period — as long as it’s unused, in perfect condition, and returned with all original packaging and accessories.
Because telescopes and optical equipment are large, delicate and expensive to ship, you’ll need to cover the cost of sending it back, and if we originally subsidised delivery, we may deduct our outbound shipping costs from your refund.
We’re a small specialist business, and unnecessary returns genuinely hurt us — so if you’re unsure at all, please talk to us first. We’d rather help you choose the right item than process a return.
How fast is shipping?
We aim to ship in-stock items as quickly as possible.
- Most in-stock orders dispatch within 1–2 working days
- Delivery usually takes 1–3 working days after dispatch (UK mainland)
- Heavier / oversized items and special orders may take a little longer
You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.
Astronomy equipment often requires specialist packing and trusted couriers — we do this to keep your gear safe, not to slow things down. If you need something urgently, just ask and we’ll do our best.
