Celestron Origin Mark II Intelligent Home Observatory

Stargazing and Astroimaging Redefined

The Celestron Origin Mark II is a revolutionary all-in-one smart observatory that combines powerful optics, advanced imaging, and automated astrophotography into a single, easy-to-use system. Designed for both beginners and experienced skywatchers, Origin Mark II transforms your garden into a personal deep-sky observatory, delivering stunning images of galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters directly to your phone or tablet.

Forget eyepieces, manual alignment, and complex setup. Simply place Origin outside, power it on, open the app — and start exploring the universe in minutes.

Intelligent Real-Time Astrophotography

Built-in AI automatically stacks and processes each exposure as it’s captured, revealing deep-sky objects in full colour and detail in real time. This is not generative AI — every image is created from your own data, enhanced using professional astrophotography techniques for sharper results and cleaner contrast.

Watch celestial objects come to life on your screen as Origin continuously refines your image.

Patented 6" RASA Optical System

At the heart of Origin Mark II is Celestron’s Rowe-Ackermann Schmidt Astrograph (RASA) design. This ultra-fast f/2.2 optical system gathers significantly more light in less time than traditional telescopes, producing brighter images with shorter exposures.

With a 152mm aperture and wide field of view, Origin Mark II captures faint deep-sky targets with exceptional clarity — technology trusted by professional observatories and space surveillance systems, now available in a portable home telescope.

Next-Generation Sony Starvis 2 Camera

Origin Mark II features the Celestron Origin 678C Camera, powered by Sony’s latest Starvis 2 CMOS sensor:

  • 8.3MP resolution

  • Ultra-fine 2.0μm pixels

  • Enhanced low-light sensitivity

  • Crisp 16:9 image format

Precision-matched to Origin’s fast optics, the camera reveals fine structure in nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters, producing clean, detailed results in seconds.

Fully Automated Setup with StarSense

Celestron’s patented StarSense technology handles everything automatically:

  • Autofocus

  • Sky scanning

  • Plate solving

  • Alignment

From power-on to imaging in under two minutes — no star charts, polar alignment, or technical knowledge required.

Intuitive Mobile App Control

Operate the entire system using the Celestron Origin Powered by SkySafari™ app for iOS and Android. Browse an interactive planetarium, select targets, adjust image settings, and monitor live stacking with ease.

Features include:

  • Tonight’s Best object recommendations

  • Compass mode sky navigation

  • Live image adjustments (brightness, contrast, colour saturation)

  • RAW file access for advanced processing

Share the Experience

Multiple users can connect simultaneously to view Origin’s live feed on their own devices. You can also cast directly to a smart TV or instantly save and share your astro images — perfect for group observing sessions and family stargazing nights.

Order Fulfilment

Some items, as clearly stated on the product page, may be fulfilled directly by our partners or manufacturers. In these cases, your order will be shipped to you straight from the brand’s warehouse. This helps us provide a wider range of specialist equipment and may result in slightly different delivery times.

Returns Policy

If something isn’t right, we’ll always try to help.

  • Unused items in “as new” condition can usually be returned within the statutory cooling-off period
  • Please contact us before sending anything back so we can advise on the safest way
  • For unwanted items, return shipping is your responsibility, and original shipping may be deducted where applicable
  • If a product is faulty or damaged, we’ll arrange repair, replacement or refund in line with your consumer rights — and we’ll cover reasonable return costs

Telescope shipping is expensive, and specialist — avoidable returns really do impact our business, so we always encourage customers to ask questions before buying. We’re here to help you get it right first time.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Questions about this product?
Don't be a stranger.

Does it come with a warranty?

All our products are UK stock so come with manufacturers warranty

What happens if I don't like it?

We always want you to be happy with your purchase — so if you’re unsure, please ask us first. We’re always happy to give honest advice before you buy.

If the product arrives and you simply decide it isn’t for you, you can usually return it within the cooling-off period — as long as it’s unused, in perfect condition, and returned with all original packaging and accessories.

Because telescopes and optical equipment are large, delicate and expensive to ship, you’ll need to cover the cost of sending it back, and if we originally subsidised delivery, we may deduct our outbound shipping costs from your refund.

We’re a small specialist business, and unnecessary returns genuinely hurt us — so if you’re unsure at all, please talk to us first. We’d rather help you choose the right item than process a return.

How fast is shipping?

We aim to ship in-stock items as quickly as possible.

  • Most in-stock orders dispatch within 1–2 working days
  • Delivery usually takes 1–3 working days after dispatch (UK mainland)
  • Heavier / oversized items and special orders may take a little longer

You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.

Astronomy equipment often requires specialist packing and trusted couriers — we do this to keep your gear safe, not to slow things down. If you need something urgently, just ask and we’ll do our best.
