Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer – See the Sky in Stunning 3D-like Detail

Take your visual astronomy to the next level with the Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer. Designed for use with two matching 1.25” eyepieces, this premium binoviewer lets you observe celestial objects using both eyes—a more natural and relaxing way to view that enhances contrast, sharpness, and perceived detail.

Whether you're studying lunar features, double stars, or planetary surfaces, the Celestron Binocular Viewer allows for extended, fatigue-free viewing sessions with incredible visual impact. It’s a powerful upgrade for serious astronomers who want a richer, more immersive observing experience.

Why Use a Binoviewer?

Your brain is naturally wired to process visual information from both eyes at once, and that’s exactly what the Celestron Binocular Viewer is designed to do. Standard telescopic viewing relies on just one eye, which can lead to:

  • Reduced contrast and visual detail

  • Eye fatigue during longer sessions

  • A less immersive, more clinical viewing experience

By using two matched eyepieces, the binocular viewer:

  • Enhances depth perception and contrast

  • Reduces eye strain and increases viewing comfort

  • Lets you observe for longer with greater clarity

  • Feels more natural, especially for those used to binoculars

Premium Optical Design with BaK-4 Prisms

Inside, the Celestron Stereo Binocular Viewer features high-quality 22 mm BaK-4 prisms with fully multi-coated optics to ensure maximum light transmission, excellent edge-to-edge sharpness, and no vignetting or light cutoff.

The result? Bright, high-contrast images that bring out subtle features on the Moon, planets, and deep-sky targets alike.

Thoughtful, Durable Construction

Built to withstand regular use at the eyepiece, the viewer’s rubberised housing offers a secure, non-slip grip—even while wearing gloves. Additional features include:

  • Individually adjustable eyepiece holders for precise focusing

  • Clearly marked diopter adjustment for easy setup

  • A threaded 1.25” nosepiece that accepts standard filters, so you only need one—saving time and money

This makes the Binocular Viewer not only optically excellent but also highly practical and easy to use.

Compatibility and Back Focus Considerations

The Celestron Binocular Viewer is compatible with a wide range of telescopes, including:

  • Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (SCTs)

  • Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes

  • Many refractors

It requires approximately 3.5 inches (90 mm) of back focus, which is available on most catadioptric and many refractor systems. However, Newtonian reflectors and some spotting scopes may lack sufficient back focus, which could limit or prevent the ability to focus to infinity when using a binoviewer.

Note: This viewer requires two matched 1.25” eyepieces, which are sold separately.

Key Features:

  • Binocular viewer for dual-eye viewing with any compatible 1.25” telescope

  • Increases contrast, detail, and viewing comfort

  • Uses high-quality 22 mm BaK-4 prisms with fully multi-coated optics

  • Individually adjustable eyepiece focus and diopter settings

  • Rubberised housing for secure grip—even with gloves

  • 1.25” barrel is filter-threaded for using a single filter across both eyepieces

  • Weighs approx. 18 oz (510 g) and uses ~3.5” of back focus

  • Compatible with SCTs, Maks, and many refractors

See the Difference – View the Universe with Both Eyes

Order Fulfilment

Some items, as clearly stated on the product page, may be fulfilled directly by our partners or manufacturers. In these cases, your order will be shipped to you straight from the brand’s warehouse. This helps us provide a wider range of specialist equipment and may result in slightly different delivery times.

Returns Policy

If something isn’t right, we’ll always try to help.

  • Unused items in “as new” condition can usually be returned within the statutory cooling-off period
  • Please contact us before sending anything back so we can advise on the safest way
  • For unwanted items, return shipping is your responsibility, and original shipping may be deducted where applicable
  • If a product is faulty or damaged, we’ll arrange repair, replacement or refund in line with your consumer rights — and we’ll cover reasonable return costs

Telescope shipping is expensive, and specialist — avoidable returns really do impact our business, so we always encourage customers to ask questions before buying. We’re here to help you get it right first time.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

What happens if I don't like it?

We always want you to be happy with your purchase — so if you’re unsure, please ask us first. We’re always happy to give honest advice before you buy.

If the product arrives and you simply decide it isn’t for you, you can usually return it within the cooling-off period — as long as it’s unused, in perfect condition, and returned with all original packaging and accessories.

Because telescopes and optical equipment are large, delicate and expensive to ship, you’ll need to cover the cost of sending it back, and if we originally subsidised delivery, we may deduct our outbound shipping costs from your refund.

We’re a small specialist business, and unnecessary returns genuinely hurt us — so if you’re unsure at all, please talk to us first. We’d rather help you choose the right item than process a return.

How fast is shipping?

We aim to ship in-stock items as quickly as possible.

  • Most in-stock orders dispatch within 1–2 working days
  • Delivery usually takes 1–3 working days after dispatch (UK mainland)
  • Heavier / oversized items and special orders may take a little longer

You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.

Astronomy equipment often requires specialist packing and trusted couriers — we do this to keep your gear safe, not to slow things down. If you need something urgently, just ask and we’ll do our best.
