Celestron Night Vision Flashlight – Preserve Your Night Vision While Stargazing

Whether you’re a casual backyard stargazer or a dedicated deep-sky observer, the Celestron Night Vision Flashlight is one of the most essential accessories for astronomy. Designed specifically for use in the dark, this red LED flashlight helps you navigate, read star charts, and manage your equipment without compromising your night vision.

If you’re heading to a star party, observing with friends, or simply setting up your gear in the garden, a red flashlight is more than a convenience—it’s a must-have tool for optimal performance and observing etiquette.

Why Use Red Light for Astronomy?

White light may help you see clearly in the short term, but it destroys your dark adaptation. Even a quick burst of white light causes your pupils to constrict, significantly reducing your eyes' ability to gather light—just like closing down the aperture of a telescope.

By contrast, red light has minimal impact on your night vision, allowing you to:

  • Read star charts and planisphere maps

  • Identify accessories in your kit

  • Navigate safely around cables, tripods, and other equipment

  • Maintain full night vision for sharper, more detailed observing

Whether you're viewing faint nebulae or tracking star clusters, the better your night vision, the more you’ll see through the eyepiece.

Adjustable Brightness & Practical Design

The Celestron Night Vision Flashlight uses two red LEDs that deliver even, gentle illumination across your workspace. A convenient thumb wheel lets you precisely adjust the brightness level to suit any task—from softly illuminating a chart to more fully lighting your accessory case or notebook.

Additional thoughtful design features include:

  • A square body that prevents the flashlight from rolling off your table or telescope case

  • An attached lanyard, so you can wear it around your neck or hang it from your equipment for easy access

  • A compact, lightweight form that fits easily in your pocket or accessory pouch

Powered for Long Observing Sessions

The flashlight runs on a standard 9V battery (included), providing long-lasting performance through extended observing sessions, camping trips, and star parties.

Key Features:

  • Provides adjustable red LED illumination to preserve night vision

  • Ideal for amateur astronomers, astrophotographers, and educators

  • Adjustable thumb wheel for fine control of brightness

  • Square shape prevents rolling on uneven surfaces

  • Includes lanyard for hands-free convenience

  • Powered by a 9V battery (included)

  • Compact, lightweight, and easy to carry

A Small Tool with a Big Impact on Your Observing Experience

Don’t let stray white light ruin your carefully adapted night vision. Whether you're aligning your telescope, recording observations, or navigating a dark site, the Celestron Night Vision Flashlight helps you stay fully immersed in the wonders of the night sky.

Order yours today and make your stargazing sessions easier, safer, and more productive.

Order Fulfilment

Some items, as clearly stated on the product page, may be fulfilled directly by our partners or manufacturers. In these cases, your order will be shipped to you straight from the brand’s warehouse. This helps us provide a wider range of specialist equipment and may result in slightly different delivery times.

Returns Policy

If something isn’t right, we’ll always try to help.

  • Unused items in “as new” condition can usually be returned within the statutory cooling-off period
  • Please contact us before sending anything back so we can advise on the safest way
  • For unwanted items, return shipping is your responsibility, and original shipping may be deducted where applicable
  • If a product is faulty or damaged, we’ll arrange repair, replacement or refund in line with your consumer rights — and we’ll cover reasonable return costs

Telescope shipping is expensive, and specialist — avoidable returns really do impact our business, so we always encourage customers to ask questions before buying. We’re here to help you get it right first time.

Your statutory rights are not affected.

Does it come with a warranty?

All our products are UK stock so come with manufacturers warranty

What happens if I don't like it?

We always want you to be happy with your purchase — so if you’re unsure, please ask us first. We’re always happy to give honest advice before you buy.

If the product arrives and you simply decide it isn’t for you, you can usually return it within the cooling-off period — as long as it’s unused, in perfect condition, and returned with all original packaging and accessories.

Because telescopes and optical equipment are large, delicate and expensive to ship, you’ll need to cover the cost of sending it back, and if we originally subsidised delivery, we may deduct our outbound shipping costs from your refund.

We’re a small specialist business, and unnecessary returns genuinely hurt us — so if you’re unsure at all, please talk to us first. We’d rather help you choose the right item than process a return.

How fast is shipping?

We aim to ship in-stock items as quickly as possible.

  • Most in-stock orders dispatch within 1–2 working days
  • Delivery usually takes 1–3 working days after dispatch (UK mainland)
  • Heavier / oversized items and special orders may take a little longer

You’ll receive tracking details as soon as your order is on its way.

Astronomy equipment often requires specialist packing and trusted couriers — we do this to keep your gear safe, not to slow things down. If you need something urgently, just ask and we’ll do our best.
